Q: The film features a number of sex scenes. Was it difficult for you to act in those?
KN: Vietnamese girls are still tied up with traditional culture, so it is difficult for me. I cried at the start of the scene (watching the clip) and I do not want to see those scenes again.
In filming the scenes, I actually felt quite comfortable because the two of us (French actor Jean-Michel Richaud) already rehearsed beforehand. We knew exactly what to do. Director Derek Nguyen also played his part by encouraging the duo to go out together, chat and get to know each other. He was very facilitative in allowing only handful of people to be present during the nude shoot.
The hardest thing for me was to show the character psychological reaction in those love scenes.
Kate also shared that she cried after the filming was over because she was too tired and emotionally drained.
The director added the sex scenes were necessary and not just because he was trying to attract viewers. It should be noted that Kate has previously gone naked on an Australian TV-series.
Kate Nhung was born in 1989 in Hai Phong. She studied at Hanoi University of Culture and graduated from Hanoi College of Arts. Before going to Saigon and joining Johhny Tri Nguyen’s Dojo, Kate was a promising face with roles in “Grandma No Pizza“, “Secret Tam“, “Criminal Police” series.
She’s a multi-talented artist, working in many fields including in many TV series and movies since 2009 such as “Peach Blossom“, “Diary To Write 8.3“, “Let The Wind Roll Away“, “Face To Smile“, “Son Eye Storm ” & “No One Can Stop Her.”
Kate also won many awards at national shows. In 2009, she won the first prize in Vietnam Super Star Contest 2009. And the most important award so far for Kate is the first prize in the Vietnam Television Film and Television contest.
Kate has just completed her role in the horror film “Maid Girl“. The film was released on 15th September in Hanoi.
In addition to acting, Kate also participated as a MC and modeling gigs.
