daniellerosealf (Sept 5, 2018): Normally don’t post this kind of stuff but really incredible things happen when you start to love yourself and your body. Sure, my legs jiggle from here to Alaska with every step I take but I’m cool with that. I’m healthy and strong and capable and grateful. Years of being told I was too thin despite eating everything in sight did some damage to my psyche. Then, those same people commenting on me “finally putting some meat on my bones” terrified me of my changing body. Deprivation and a kale-based diet doesn’t work for me. Food and margaritas (especially margaritas) make me happy. My pants from last year don’t fit, because I have bigger hips now. I find that pretty cool. I didn’t “put” meat on my bones. Sandy Tejada is one of the brightest up and coming young stars in New York City today. While attracting a lot of attention from directors who often compare her to J. Lo, Sandy is still very much her own flavor. Proud of her Dominican heritage, Sandy was born in Manhattan and raised by a single mother in Queens with her older brother and sister.

Her mother was a huge influence in her life bestowing upon her the wisdom to achieve the American dream, and to seize control of her own destiny. A performer since the age of six, Sandy excelled in everything she set her mind to. Modeling, dancing, swimming, basketball, and softball were some of the ways that Sandy got to show off her natural talents. She attended St. Francis College on a four year Presidential Academic Scholarship, and majored in Communications with a concentration in Film and Broadcasting. At St. Francis she was exposed to the world of television, theatre and film, which allowed her to discover her love and passion for acting.

Fearless of the challenge, Sandy’s determination, hard work, dedication, and free spirit are all on display every time she enters a room. During Madonna’s “Lucky Star” Model Search, Diana Rube of the NY Post wrote, “[Sandy] couldn’t help be anything but exuberant as she danced down the catwalk to Madonna’s 1985 hit ‘Material Girl’.”(11/3/11) Watch out and take notice for Sandy Tejada. Danielle Alfredo is a SAG-eligible actor local to NYC. With a musical theater & dance background, Danielle has always had a passion for performance.
