Actress Sarah Minnich [1][2][3][4][5][7][8][9][10][11][12] (Brief Breasts), Lake Bell, Jessy Schram & Monique Candelaria in Shot Caller (2017)
In this movie I play a girl named Janey, and itâs one of my first supporting rolls on a bigger budget, feature film. I loved working on that film.
I felt at home and that this, is what I am supposed to be doing. In that film, I actually have a nude scene, and itâs not huge. Itâs a flash in, flash out kinda thing. It was somewhat intimidating. You go on set and you have ten or fifteen people in the room. You have cameras, directors, gaffers. Everybody is in there, and youâre in your birthday suit. But, when I went in there, people were so professional . They made me feel like, âyouâre just doing your job girl, thereâs nothing weird about this, there is nothing to be ashamed ofâ. Nikolai, is doing big stuff these days, and I remember in the scene, I am laying on a bed and I present myself to him. He comes out, and gives me the sign that he is not interested and I am embarrassed. I stand up and put my clothes back on, nothing too intense is happening there, but I did really expose myself. I remember I did the first take with Nikolai, and we finished the take and we stopped. He said âwow, wowâ, and he wasnât saying that because I looked good, he was saying it as he explained in few words, that âyou look really young, but then you are really able to change it upâ, like I was able to look very sexual in the initial part of the scene, but but then was able to change to this young innocent look. I think he was impressed by that and I was so honored, that this big , successful actor, was impressed by what I did. That was one of my favorite experiences, because as an actor, you always wonder if you are good enough, âam I doing what I should be doingâ. When someone verifies you, and lets you know that what you are doing is right, and you are doing it well. He gave me that assurance that I was doing my job, and I loved that.

Q: What project that you have worked on in the past, or are working on now, would be your favorite?
Ok, so there is a film coming out called Shot Caller, with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, (who plays the Kingslayer on Game of Thrones). This is slated to be released later this year. Interview: Sarah Minnich of âShot Callerâ
September 1, 2017
I really enjoyed playing Janie in Shot Caller! I might even say that the film was one of my favorite acting experiences so far. The character Janie is a young gang-groupie type who gets caught in the crossfire when she attempts to seduce the head honcho Money  (played by Coster-Waldau) immediately after his is released from prison. Although the character is short-lived, I found the arch to be relatable and really quite human. Sheâs just a girl, doing what sheâs supposed to be doing according to her role in the gang. Sheâs turned down and is shamed by it, but comes right back with a smile and an offer for another try in the future. People can relate to trying, failing, and getting back up to try again. Thereâs even a moment of pity for the character when she steps into the wrong place at the wrong time, and pays the ultimate price. Iâm beyond pleased that I had the chance to bring life to that human experience.
On a business note, I was so pleased to work with such a professional crew; given my nude scene and delicate plot line, everyone was very respectful and treated me as a professional. Ric Roman Waugh was an awesome director to work with; he is clear about what he wants, very personable and has a good command of his set. All and all, the project was a great learning experience for me as an actress and great fun for me as an artist.Â
Q: What was it like working with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau on the film?
I was pretty star-struck to work across from Nikolaj, considering Iâm a major Game of Thrones fan. Heâs literally the prince charming type that he portrays in GOT, minus the sinister disgusting side of the character Jamie Lannister from the earlier books/seasons. He was kind to me, patient with me, and went so far as to compliment me on the quick-shift persona change that I make when my character is turned down by Money. And letâs be honest, it really didnât hurt my feelings to have to flirt with him⊠sigh.

In âShot Callerâ, I perform across from Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in what I think will be a fan favorite kind of scene⊠if yaâ know what I mean. This role was really quite motivating for me, as my character had an important part, and I got to work closely with a well-known, exceptionally talented, and highly experienced actor⊠who is also super sexy. Again, âShot Callerâ is rumored to release later this year. Finally, in âThe Space Between Usâ, I play a reporter across from actress Janet Montgomery in a massive room with literally the most background talent I have ever seen in my life. For my scene, I was given a hand-held mic and asked to speak in front of all those gorgeous people dressed to the nines. IT WAS AWESOME! âThe Space Between Usâ is slated to release on July 29th of this year; see yâall on the red carpet!Â
